Community, Culture, and Celebration: Recapping Cinco de Mayo at Uptown Yard

On Saturday, May 2, the Pinole community came together at Uptown Yard for a joyful Cinco de Mayo celebration filled with food, music, dancing, and local creativity.

From the morning Pop-Up Market to the afternoon entertainment, the Yard was alive with festive energy.

A Morning of Local Finds

The celebration began with the Pop-Up Market at 9 AM. Neighbors explored products from local vendors, discovered handmade goods, enjoyed coffee, and supported small businesses.

Located near the Pinole Farmers’ Market on San Pablo Avenue, Uptown Yard provided a welcoming place for visitors to gather before the afternoon festivities.

Music and Dancing With Candela Viva

The main celebration began at 3 PM with live music and dancing.

Candela Viva delivered an energetic performance that brought people together and captured the festive spirit of Cinco de Mayo. Guests danced, relaxed on the grass, enjoyed food, and spent the afternoon connecting with friends and neighbors.
